As well as being in one of the UK's top wedding bands, each individual member of Festival Folk is an accomplished and professional musician in their own right. And that's certainly true of our lead singer, Jamie, who is a singer-songwriter, performing all around the country.
Following acclaim at the ever-growing Hastings Fat Tuesday Festival, BBC Introducing invited Jamie to perform for shows in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. BBC Kent's Drivetime presenter Dominic King invited Jamie to talk music and playing a couple of acoustic tracks live on the Music Conversation.
This was followed by a trip to Brighton for a full band session with BBC Introducing The South's Melita Dennett. The band played three tracks live on the show in a giant window facing Brighton's busy Queens Road. This also featured Festival Folk's very own Jim Board #theresonlyonejimboard.
Summer of 2017 will see the release of Jamie's new single, currently in the final stages of studio production. You can keep up to date with all things Jamie Smart on his Facebook page.
Jamie gets his down time being Daddy to his 3 year old daughter and 9 month old son as a part-time 'Stay At Home Dad', hanging out on the beach and their favourite farm, whilst singing Disney songs on demand.
With a busy calender ahead for Festival Folk in 2017, Jamie and all of us can't wait to give your special day the Festival Folk treatment! Haven't booked us yet? Why not?! Get in contact to book Festival Folk for your wedding or event - and we look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor!
